Robin’s Clary’s Visit

I was so excited to go to New York last week since it meant I would get to visit our newest manufacturer, Clary’s Wigs!

I highly recommend anyone dropping by this lovely salon (make an appointment!) if you are in the area, just for the unique experience. First off, you enter to see an enormous case featuring every style offered by Clary’s in a bewildering array of colors.

There is a salon area (very private, no street view) to try on pieces, and the staff are so helpful. Raizi made me feel she had all the time in the world to spend with me trying on wigs!

Speaking of trying on: here I am in a Pretty Woman

This is a 4! I usually want a 2, and am uncomfortable in a 4 from most manufacturers since to me it looks much lighter than my biohair. As you can see Clary’s colors run quite dark (although, as the site notes,  all blends are from virgin human hair and are not treated in any way by Clary’s – we can ask for a “lighter 10” or a “darker 10” for instance).

And here I am in Euro Dream (a slightly shorter version of Fairy Tale which we carry on the site):

We’ve had customer ask us about the volume of hair in Clary’s and there is a lot! However, it’s not at the crown with permatease, but in the length of the hair, where it can be thinned by an experienced wig stylist. I thought the provided hairline looked very natural, but remember to that Clary’s will add a lace front if you want!

We provide extensive customer service for this brand! Please contact the help desk for color consultations, inventory checks, or sizing questions. Myriad customization options are available.

Do they have “regular” brands? I am in that area in Boro Park Brooklyn on a weekly basis. But I really doubt they have mainstream wigs like from Jon Renau? Or do they have just sheitals? That is a heavily populated Orthodox Jewish area so I think that is a specialty shop.

Hi Michele! They do only carry their own custom made sheitels, no other brands. Thanks for commenting!

What an amazing visit, and how cool to see ALL of those Clary’s sheitels in one place! (Thank you for taking that photo of all of that gorgeous hair!) I’m so jealous that you got to go try those on- you look fabulous, by the way! To quote Liz Lemon from 30 Rock, “I want to go to there.”

I think it’s really cool that you can ask for a “lighter 10” or a “darker 10”- that’s good information to have!
