Hi folks Kathleen here to review Arden by Tony of Beverly. I have been intrigued with Arden forever it seems. She only weighs 1.9oz. A simple chic style with no lace front or part but does have a mono crown for realism. The two colors I chose are on loan from CysterWigs to review. One is a new color for Tony of Beverly Bronze and the other color is Rouge.
Tony of Beverly’s packaging is exqusite and always gets me excited to see what’s in the box..😉
I was blown away with the packaging of these sweet little pixies. I have received a gazillion wigs over the past two years and I have never seen this kind of protective packaging before as illustrated in images 4 & 5. Beautifully packaged…the anticipation builds..lol
My first look at the new color Bronze in image 5..ooh pretty and the color Honey Mix Root from Belle Madame comes immediately to mind.
Image 6 shows me wearing Arden in Rouge. My first impressions are…gorgeous color and extremely low density. The style is your classic pixie with lots of razored and mixed textures on the front fringe continuing along the sides and transitioning into the sideburns….very delicate and chic. Not at all a dense bluntly cut bang and front.
So lets be fair here Arden does not flatter me at all. 😜 This is an example of a wig that I think is so chic and pretty and perfect! For someone else. 😉 Arden is really made for a petite or small framed woman. Someone with fine delicate features. Who perhaps always has had thin hair and just wants what she once had. She doesn’t want crazy volume but also doesn’t want or can’t tolerate a lace front. Arden looks and feels like she has no permatease. In fact there is just enough to cover the wefts on top as this is predominately an open cap wig. You do not see the permatease at all. There is a small mono crown so the hair will look like it is growing out of your head. What you see in the photos of me wearing Arden is the actual shape of my head. 😂 I have a small head, long “full”face and big features and I’m a big gal…basically the opposite type that would look good in this pixie. But dang she’s so cute!
Above image 8 really demonstrates how chic and low density Arden is. So cute. This color Rouge is a favorite of mine. A dark blushy auburn with blushy blonde highlights on top. I think this sophisticated color really shows off this style. I can hear you know…you’re wondering about the fit. Many of Tony of Beverly wigs are fairly big on me. They fit true to average. I do take in the adjusters and I’m usually fine. Arden fits me like a glove. I would definitely say she fits on the small side of average maybe even petite. I had no bagginess and no bunching even over my ears. The fit is a dream for small headed folks. Another plus in my book.
With the low density of Arden its such a great idea to have a 100% hand tied mono crown. The way the hair lies on top is so natural and looks very realistic. This style hugs the shape of your head and is very chic.
Above is Arden in Bronze. A pretty very dynamic and heavily but evenly highlighted warm light brown. Overall you could argue she’s a dark blonde because of how heavily highlighted she is. Although Bronze isn’t a rooted color she appears rooted because the base shade is so much darker than the highlights and the depth that creates gives the illusion of a root. I like this, it looks more natural me.
Look at all the delicate wispy pieces around the face (image 12). The nape really hugs the neck. She doesn’t look or feel like a wig.
The bangs are long enough to cover your forehead but are not heavy at all.
Remember I said the Bronze color reminded me of my BM Coco Mono SF (not available for purchase at this time) color Honey Mix Root? Bronze is warmer but has that same feel. Now take notice. This Belle Madame wig is 100% hand tied so no bulk and low density. I would argue that Arden has even lower density and she’s predominately a basic open cap design. A petite pixie lovers dream.
Here’s another color comparison between Jon Renau’s Mariska Petite (another 100% hand tied wig) and Arden. Arden is much sleeker and has much lower density than Mariska. The color Rouge is similar to JR’s 32BF. If you took the colors that make up 32 BF and more evenly blend them you would get the color Rouge. Both of these are gorgeous highlighted dark red auburns. Rouge overall has a more consistent red auburn color.
The side by side of these two Ardens. By the way I have two styles of wig heads one life size and these smaller than life size ones. Since the cap is small on Arden I was afraid I might stretch them out if I displayed them on my other wig heads. These are on loan and I didn’t want to take any chances. 😉
Both gorgeous colors especially coming into the Fall season.
Here’s my take away on Arden. I love her and wish she looked better on me. I love true pixies and she’s so realistic. If I had seen her when I first started wearing wigs I would have loved her. She has thin hair just like my own. So if your bio hair is thin and you have a smaller head you will absolutely love Arden. Truly a low density lovers dream pixie. Enjoy!
