Wig Review by Saffron Cole – High Society by Gabor
Two Thumbs Up For Realism and Durability
I was lucky. My first online wig purchase turned out to be exactly what I was looking for – no permatease, no thick fashion highlights and not too much hair. In other words extremely real looking! I found it in High Society by Gabor and I found it in my natural bio hair color – Chocolate Carmel GL27/30. It has many colors without heavy streaking. There are dark and light browns, copper and strawberry blonde. In the sun it is more copper blond and in the shade a light copper brown.
The part comes in a zigzag but that can be straightened out. The first two I bought the lace front extended down by at least a 3/8 “. The next two the lace is trimmed very close. I had light bands cut and it works great. What I don’t like about it is the zebra looking streaks in the lace part. But it is really not that noticeable.
I have found it wears well. No frizzies for at least 3 months of steady wear. But I do go over it and cut out any curly strands and I don’t comb or wash it too often. It is short enough that the nape does not tangle but still has a longish look. But it does loose it’s super silkiness to the touch after a month as all synthetics do, but it is not visibly noticeable. After about 3 months I will refurbish it with a low setting hot iron to make it silky again which extends it by another month. I would say it is possible to last 6 months with care. But if you’re very particular you might regulate it to your stand-in or sports wig after 3 months.
There is plenty of flexibility in the stretch so I would think it would fit comfortably small to large. I wear my wigs with a Wigrip. I wouldn’t leave home without it. I can dance up a storm and it won’t budge. The Wigrip will make your head size ½” larger so with the grip I am around 22”.
All in all a great wig!!!
