Hi folks Kathleen here with my review of Dylan by Tony of Beverly in the gorgeous color Sunset Red. Spoiler alert!…if you skipped over the title..I LOVE Dylan. 😂 I am a little surprised how much I love her. She’s not short nor is she curly. Let’s get right into the reasons why I love her. A successful style is in my opinion about balance….balance of length…of density….of style…of features and Dylan has it all.
I have an oblong shaped face. Straighter styles tend to accentuate this vs balancing out my face shape (appear more oval). Dylan is a straighter style but since she is a lob (long bob) she curves in towards my face which gives me some fullness mid face which in turn gives me visually more of an oval face. If you have an oblong face having a side bang (especially a long side sweeping bang like Dylan) breaks up that long straight line that again helps balance out an oblong shaped face. The casual layers throughout gives movement and the slightly flippy layered ends gives Dylan a universally flattering shape.
The length is wonderful. I have Pippa and Arya by Tony of Beverly and love then both. Pippa is a classic bob and is slightly shorter in back. Arya is shorter and is the same length all the way around. If Arya is too short for you and you want something more casual than Pippa and the same length all the way around then Dylan is a wonderful choice.
Sunset Red..vibrant in these photos because they were taken in natural even diffused sunlight. Indoors and in low light conditions she’ll look like a very natural warm medium auburn.
Dylan has great movement because of all her layering and her fibers are soft and very fine. A traditional bob tends to fall in your face when you’re working either in the office, around the house..or typing on your iPad writing a review like I am. 😉 Dylan doesn’t. A huge plus in my book which makes her wonderful for everyday wear.
As I mentioned in my review of Liza, Tony of Beverly has beautiful lace fronts and mono tops. Some of the best I’ve seen and very consistent. This is my fourth mono top from TOB all on different styles and this one is as beautiful as the other three. Not too dense nor too sparse…remember it’s about balance. The density is very realistic. No worries about any wefts being exposed in a strong wind.
Look at how believable the parting space is in image 8. Just impeccable.
Image 9 gives you a quick look at where I place soft silicone medical tape to hide my bio hair and help give the illusion the hair is growing from my head. Its fun to see how much realism I can achieve doing this. (It’s reusabl.) If you don’t have hair or shave your head then you are a step ahead of me. 😉I use my hair as a thin layer of comfort between me and my wig cap. I have tried to wear nylon wig caps and just can’t tolerate anything else on my head besides the wig I’m wearing. ☺️
The length of the back of Dylan (nape is 5”) barely covers a collar if I were wearing one lol. Look at this texture though..the layering on Dylan is gorgeous.
I love the soft extended nape and velcro adjusters. Tip: once you find where you want the adjusters for a good fit take a stitch or two to tack them down. This way the velcro won’t get fuzzy with repeated use and your fit is perfect every time.
A soft loose wave or body to Dylan vs stick straight hair. Certainly plenty of hair to play around with. There isn’t permatease per say but short hairs especially around the crown help support the style and give you something to work with if you want more volume. I didn’t find them a problem and they were easily hidden in the styling process.
Image 14 showcases this beautiful lace front.
Image 15 illustrates how tiny, well spaced and tightly knotted the 100% hand tied lace front and mono top are on Dylan.
Image 17 showcases not only how realistic her mono features are but this glorious color. Tip: instead of dry shampoo (I always create a mess when I try it) I sprinkle some of my tinted translucent loose face powder on my wig to minimize shine and achieve just a “healthy hair look”
The take away here is if you want an everyday wig with an impeccable lace front and mono top with realistic density and a wearable length offered in about any hair color you can think of than I highly recommend Dylan. Fyi I have worn her almost everyday for the last couple of weeks. The most I’ve ever worn a wig at any one time 😉Enjoy!
Below is a video I took of Dylan right out of the box. Beautiful right off the bat and ready to go.🙋
