Eileen’s Review: Raquel Welch Straight Up With A Twist RL14/22SS Shaded Wheat

I have wanted to try Straight Up With A Twist for sometime now but had been hesitant due to the price and the heat friendly fiber; after watching many reviews I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did!

My go to style is a bob, I like professional ones and more fun and flirty ones and this one is a mixture of both.

I absolutely love the back of this wig, the long layers give it plenty of movement and make it spot on for style; this one will be perfect for the office or I can pin it back and “fluff” it up a bit and wear it for an evening out.

My first impression when I took her out of the box was “wow, look at that lace front”! In my opinion this is one of the best lace fronts I own so far. As I’ve stated before I’m not the biggest fan of heat friendly fibers, but I’m willing to give this a try and see how I like it, I hope that with the nape not being extremely long there won’t be as much of an issue with tangles.

But just look at that lace front, it is beautiful, it sculpts to your hairline perfectly and see how RW has put the blonde hair all the way to the front of the wig giving the illusion of it growing right out of your scalp.

I choose the color Shaded Wheat (RL14/22SS) which is a rooted warm honey blonde coarsely blended with soft ash blonde. In my opinion the ash blonde gives this wig a lot of personality!

I also am impressed with the rooting, it is not over done or too dark in contrast to the blonde.

Above I have compared it to Ellen Wille Sandmulti Rooted which is a much cooler shade.

The comparison below shows SS Wheat to JR Shaded Praline and Estetica’s R12/26CH.

The specs are front 8”, crown 8”, sides 5”, back 7” and nape 2.5”. These are such nice lenghts for this style, the front “swooping” bangs are perfect and the shorter nape will cut down on friction.

The cap construction is shown below, there is a wefted cap, adjustable bands, closed ear tabs, and a 100% hand-tied sheer indulgence monofilament top (allowing for parting changes) as well as the temple to temple lace front.

The length of the bangs makes this lady fun to style, with that beautiful lace front you can style it completley off the face or use a fun hair band or decorative pins.

This is a true classic style that you can wear year after year and always be right on trend.
