Hey y’all! This is Gina and today I’m going to share another look at Evanna by Rene of Paris in the new color Mocha Brown.

Mocha Brown is described as medium-dark brown with light caramel brown near the face and even some at the nape. The light color at the hairline helps obscure the dark knotting because honestly no matter how tiny and well done the knots are, they still kinda look like hair plugs. The knots in light colors are more natural looking.

Evanna has beautiful beachy waves with an A line bob cut. I LOVE A line bob cuts especially for mid-length or longer styles because the shorter length in the back helps extend the life span of the wig. So not only does the beachy waves of Evanna help deter tangles so you don’t comb through it often as straight styles, but this length also doesn’t brush up against stuff like shirt collars. Double thumbs up for Evanna!

Evanna has a lace front with a left side part. As you can see, there is a lace front, monofilament seam line which can be easily covered up with a small section of hair from the right side of the cap and flipping it over to the left.

There’s very little permatease. While the permatease helps the hair with a little bit of lift, I think it’s mainly there to obscure the wefts. There is no “bump it”. I typically avoid styles with excessive permatease so the amount on Evanna is wonderful. I mean I think you need to do a little hunting for the permatease because it is not immediately noticeable.

I think Evanna is a little poufy but she will settle and sit closer to the face after a wash or a few wears.

The ear tabs have a solid covering of the felt like fabric. There is a tiny piece of flexible metal in the ear tabs so you can curl it in to avoid the bat wings.

The cap is adjustable with the bra strap like adjuster.

The nape is not extended.

I have to be honest, I was quite surprised how incredibly comfortable Evanna was. I have a 22” head perimeter and usually the Aderans’ lines of Noriko, Amore, and even Rene of Paris are a little tight on me. In the past, I’d get headaches since the caps were too tight. This is NOT the case for Evanna. I found Evanna to be very stretchy and a great fit. I currently have the adjusters out pretty much all the way but I can tighten it some and be just fine to fit more securely.

Thank you Kathleen! Evanna is really a fun style. I trying to hold myself back from wearing her a lot because I think she is the perfect wig to take on vacation. 🙂

This was more helpful than most types of reviews out there; color is such a huge issue. If we had more of these it would cut down on disappointment, hassle and cost of returns. More please! Thank you!!!

Terrific review. Your inclusive info about your head size, wig comfort for you, and whether the wig does or doesn’t have an extended nape–all this lets me know that as gorgeous as this wig is, it isn’t for me and my small head! Reviewers of all products help most when they give us opinions we can judge according to our own needs. Thank you!

Thank you Carol! Do you know what your head measurements are? Evanna is adjustable and you can see in the picture of the adjusters that I had them all the way out. That’s something to keep in mind. 🙂

        Hi Gina,
My head is 20-ish inches–not quite 21. Jon Renau wigs fit me quite well, as do RW and EW, particularly if they have extended napes (I need tape at the back, or it all slides up). When I first started wearing wigs (20 years ago!), I found that Noriko’s Cory was pretty good. Wanting to branch out, I had “baggy head” with a couple of Revlons, and I bombed with an Esthetica (a so-called petite). Given that I’m not quite 5’2, my head size simply follows the rest of me. Recently, though, I tried Belle Tress’s Kona, and it’s fine. Many things have changed in the past 20 years…

Hi Carol! It’s great to hear from you again! We’re height sisters! 🙂

Thank you for providing your measurements! Cap fitting would be the reason why you having issues with your wigs riding up as you should be in petite caps. It’s so nice that more and more companies are expanding their wig sizes in many different styles.

Our awesome Heather has provided a wonderful resource in listing out the general fit guidelines for the different brands we have here at CysterWigs:

Noriko is on the list for smaller than average. Estetica would definitely be a brand I would shy away from.

If you have any units that are a bit older and you are feeling adventurous, you might want to try and alter the wig. Check out this blog post by Kathleen:

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any questions. 🙂
