I’ll be honest with you, I initially passed over Kiss because the product photos didn’t catch my eye. How many times has that happened to you? Then I saw a video of Ellen Wille’s photoshoot of her new collection and saw a glimpse of what this wig could look like. I was hooked and ordered it asap. Overall I love this style. It has one little quirk to be mindful of but the style and color more than make up for it. Below is a black and white photo so the style is the star not the color. 😉
What I like about this style is as short as it is the nape is a bit longer and the sideburn area is a bit longer than you might expect from a pixie this short. Another thing that I really liked about this basic open cap design is it has a good size mono crown that in this case really helps with the realism. The hair isn’t too dense either so it looks like hair is growing from your head. Its a small touch but in my opinion essential. Below is a collage of the measurements and product photos and the glimpse I saw of the curls styled forward over the forehead. So cute! The description turns out was spot on for this color Mango Mix. Still you never know..lol..I was hoping it wouldn’t be too dark or too brown. I was thrilled when I opened the box and saw the color..yummy. 👏
After a quick shake and some styling Kiss immediately reminded me of another favorite wig of mine Raquel Welch’s The New Romantic. Below is a side by side comparison on wig heads. If you took TNR and thinned it out and trimmed it you would have Kiss. If you love the look of RW TNR but fear it might be too much hair for you I think you would love Kiss.
Now for Kiss’s “quirk”. There isn’t much permatease on Kiss( RW The New Romantic has much more permatease even though it has a mono top 😉)which is a good thing and the hair density is low which is a good thing. Out of the box the curls are adorable and you really can style them any which way you want and they’ll stay because of the permatease. I didn’t use any product at all when I styled her. However the permatease combined with the low hair density can be a small challenge if you want to style it more like I have..kinda crazy. 😜If you aren’t careful you might expose a weft or two in front. After I realized this might happen I just fiddled with her to make sure no wefts were exposed. I will say on the positive side there is plenty of hair on the sides and back…no way any wefts will ever show there. This is a trade off to achieve the style of Kiss. She has a very realistic hair density and to have the curls the way they are ..very light and easily styled the permatease is essential.
Below are more side by side comparisons of Raquel Welch’s The New Romantic and Ellen Wille’s Kiss. Kiss has much less volume and permatease than TNR.
I love that you have some curls to play with on EW Kiss but not all the hair of RW TNR.
Ellen Wille’s Light Mango Mix and Mango Mix are virtual doppelgängers as you can see from the photo below. The same numbers are used in their color mix. A little more Irish red in the front of Point’s Light Mango Mix but in person you really can’t tell much of a difference. I’m very happy. To me it also looks like I took my Point and curled it. You could easily interchange these two sister styles and no one would be the wiser. 😊
Below is Kiss in all its glory. I really am enjoying this one. Fun and flirty..not at all stuffy or old fashioned. I’d love to see this in a brunette shade.
Same wig different lighting…the photo below was taken on an overcast day. This is how I wear Kiss now…she’s settled into this look quite organically which I love. The take away here is if you wear and adore pixies but would like to try some curls I highly recomend this cute quirky sexy little number…Kiss by Ellen Wille..another winner..❤️👏
