Hi Folks Kathleen here with my review of Liza by Tony of Beverly. A classic voluminous and layered longer styled pixie. I have been quite curious about Liza for awhile and was afraid she might be too wild for me judging from the product photos. Liza hmm named for Liza Minnelli? Well since I haven’t seen much in the way of photos or reviews I thought it was about time I checked her out. 😉 I chose the beautiful warm dynamic color Strawberry Frost to review her in.
Liza has a lot of hair. No skimping on volume and no worries about any wefts showing. The feel of her hair is a bit on the coarse side. It wasn’t the usual silky and soft hair I am used to from Tony of Beverly. This is a very layered style and in my experience a vast majority of my shorter/pixie wigs have coarser hair than longer styles. With all this hair there is surprisingly a low amount of permatease and with a full mono top I think she is a great value as well. Out of the box she didn’t remind me of Liza Minnelli’s hair at all. Nothing to be scared of..lol 😉
A full mono top with hair under knotted along the front makes Liza very realistic. I love TOB’s boxes and logo…so classy. 👏🏻
Image 4 shows me in natural light on my covered deck. I love this strawberry blonde color. As a red lover it’s a perfect blonde for me. Gold blondes tend to look a little too brassy or yellow on me. This is more of a apricot or peachy warm blonde. The mono top is so natural looking. As much hair as Liza has you can still part her to show off this monofilament feature. Liza was on loan from CysterWigs so I didn’t want to fuss with her too much. 😉
Tony of Beverly wigs have great mono tops (I have Pippa and Dylan and LOVE them) and Liza’s is no exception. In image 5 you can see the under knotting along the front. This really does allow you to style her off your face a bit even without a lace front.
In my opinion She looks best styled Swept back. When I first received her I wasn’t sure how I would style her…but I think she looks amazing in image 6. The back of Liza is very full and I love the profile. Liza reminds me of tennis great Billy Jean King’s hair. I. Would say she fits true to average.
If your bio was thick and a little coarse you would love Liza. ❤️
Once again (the last couple of wigs I’ve reviewed I was enamored with the back 😂) I love the back of Liza. ☺️ Plenty of length and coverage. Image 8 and 9 illustrates the color and value range of this beautiful color Strawberry Frost. The front has a lot of warm peachy blonde highlights which gradually diminish in the back until all you have is a light auburn color on the nape.
The longer length on Liza is very wearable. Liza is on the order of my Raquel Welch’s regular Voltage. She has more hair especially in back than Voltage but less permatease and she’s doesn’t have as many flippy layers. The style of Liza is toned down compared to Voltage. Actually she’s even more similar to the style of Voltage Elite. Because Voltage Elite is 100% hand tied she is less flippy than the regular Voltage. Liza is a bit longer and has a mono top but no lace front. Liza’s hair thickness and feel/texture are very similar to my two Voltage Elites.
If you are looking for a full longer short style with plenty of hair but not a lot of permatease in a more classic shape with a mono top but no itchy lace front at a reasonable price than Liza is a wonderful choice for you…enjoy!
