Hi Folks Kathleen here with my second installment of my favorite wigs. This time I present my top 10 wigs for dates, parties, weddings, any special occasion. These are not my everyday wigs. Why you ask? Its a personal thing. I come from the pixie world and super fine stringy hair. These are wigs that I love, I just adore but aren’t so much “me”. I feel like I’m playing “dress up” when I wear these. 😉These are my dream hair wigs. I never want them to wear out..lol. I will tell you why I love them and to what occasion I might wear them. I don’t have a favorite so these aren’t in any particular order. Enjoy the ride. 🙋
Lets start with my United by Ellen Wille. I’ll tell you why I love this wig. The realism is off the charts. The best lace front I have ever seen. She also has a wonderful mono part. This is natural blonde color… rare but natural so I don’t miss a root. Just shy of platinum. This was my hair color up until I started school. The hair has absolutely no shine to her and she isn’t a heat defiant wig so there is very little tangling. The hair is so super fine I pretend it’s my own hair…it’s the hair I have in my dreams. Think summer hair, floral sundress, strappy sandals and sharing lunch and a mimosa or two with your girlfriends.
Another love of mine is Haily by Tony of Beverly. The curls are perfect..not too curly not too loose…just right. Short which I love but plenty long enough to cover my nape hair and sideburn area. A beautiful lace front which is sometimes hard to find in curly styles. This color Sunset Red. My first SR from TOB. Love the warmth and highlights on this medium Irish Red. She’s so comfy and I love the curls around my face. Think jeans, White poet shirt & boots at an end of summer neighborhood barbecue.
My Rich Mono is another wig that looks and feels like it could be my own hair…in my dreams that is. It’s short and sassy and I love this blonde. The root is not too dark and isn’t brassy at all so blends wonderfully with my bio hair. Very low density but for this volume loving girl you can get enough oomph out of it so it doesn’t look flat on this pin head of mine. The long asymmetrical sweeping bang balances out my “full” face. It fits me so well as do most ew wigs. Think a cap sleeved aqua shift dress and an outdoor afternoon wedding. So sweet.
Oh my I love Madison by Estetica. I went gaga over this one when I first got her. The color is gorgeous and looks so natural on me. The lace front and mono part are very well done. I love the loose deconstructed waves. The fibers are dry and have virtually no shine. The front was too extreme for me so I did trim her into more of a bob and now I LOVE her even more. I feel sexy in this one. On trend but not pushing it for this almost 60 gal…well next May This is a movie date wig with my hubby. Its comfy casual and fancy all together. I love wearing her with jeans and a tee shirt.
I cannot say enough good things about Pippa. If you love bobs she’s perfection. Wonderful natural movement. The density, cut, is just right for me. I would say her density is medium. The lace front and mono top on this wig is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Even my son-in-law complimented me on this one. Another Sunset Red wig by TOB. I love all the ginger red highlights. Think casual dress and an Italian restaurant with family to celebrate a birthday.
My Neena by Tony of Beverly in Sunset Red. If you love short hair and want something dressier for an upcoming event Neena is a beautiful choice. Lots of hair and fairly dense( no wefts will ever show on this one)and a bit coarse( which I find on most curly styles-especially on short hair) but so much fun to style. A no frills cap and so cool to wear in warmer weather. A true curly pixie. Very rare. I am reminded of Suzanne Pleshette’s hair on the Bob Newhart show. Which by the way I was always envious of and now I can have it. Think fancy romantic dinner with my hubby….little black dress, chandelier earrings…ooh la la. Neena can be very chic indeed.
For me Brave The Wave by Raquel Welch in Shaded Spice is Hollywood hair. Red carpet wow. Curled to perfection. Great lace front and mono part. Such a gorgeous sophisticated color. The base and root is quite dark but those ginger red highlights give it life. I think Lauren Bacall legendary movie star hair. Think a deep teal cocktail dress diamonds and emeralds at The fabulous Fox Theater in Atlanta to see the holiday favorite The Nutcracker…at intermission enjoy a martini with family & friends.
I love this color Lighter Red by Envy. I always loved their Brittaney but wished it were shorter..viola COCO! Love this wave pattern. Envy hair is soft and silky. I did thin her so those gorgeous waves wouldn’t fall in my face. So glamorous but for me so much more wearable in this shorter length. A wonderful date wig…anything goes as far as dress. She looks equally great with jeans and a tee shirt or all glammed up with the perfect coral red lipstick.
Ahhh my dreamy 100% hand-tied lace front and mono top Hunter by Tony of Beverly in the gorgeous color Sunset Red. I’ll be honest with you it took me awhile to get used to the length on this one. Remember I come from the pixie world. Such an exquisite wig though. I was determined to wear her. The cap construction is amazing. The comfort level is off the charts comfy. The cap is quite roomy on me but I have a petite/average head size. I take in the velcro adjusters at the nape and I’m fine. I did trim some more bangs on this one as I liked her more with a deeper side part than the way she came. TIP: To get used to a new look in a style and/or color. Put on some makeup. Wear her a little at a time. It takes awhile to get used to seeing yourself looking different. Over time you’ll start to get comfortable wearing your wig and then one day you’ll put her on and you’ll love it!…not just on your wig head Hunter is a versatile wig. Casual to fancy. She would be great to wear to a college graduation ceremony and then continue wearing her ( because of the 100% hand tied cap and comfort level) to the graduation party/parties afterwards. 🏼
Last but not least is my Kelsey(a more refined version of Sonoma by ROP) by Envy in Lighter Red. I love the updo look you get with this short stacked curly style with the extra long front fringe. Its so Romantic. The fibers are so soft. This has a lot of volume which I love. This would be such gorgeous bridal hair. So stunning. This here is some serious Valentines date hair. The color is so pretty and with this style the tips on those tendrils are a lighter ginger red. Really pretty. Also think a bohemian maxi dress and some laced up Espadrilles for a date night and some Al fresco dining with my wonderful husband. The Take away here is there is more than one wig for each occasion in your life. Hopefully I’ve shown you some you hadn’t thought about before..have fun wig cysters and most of all ENJOY!
