Hi Folks Kathleen here with my review of a style and color that are new to me. Opulence by Gabor in the beautiful natural looking color Rusty Auburn. I saw Heather’s review and thought this would be a great style for the warm summer months. I’ve been enjoying bobs lately and Opulence with her short back will be cool for the summer. You know I love my reds and up until now I hesitated trying Rusty Auburn because I was afraid it would be too brown for me. Again… I viewed Heather’s color spotlight where she said this color will always look red. She was correct! Those reviews coupled with an awesome price on the new revamped WigCloseouts.com and I was sold.
I love the short back on Opulence. You get the best of both worlds a bob in front and a short pixie type style in the back. With a lace front and mono part minimal permatease and light/ natural density Opulence is a winner.
Images 3 is right out of the box. This is a shake and go. All I did was re-part her (she came with the customary zig zag part). Apply soft silicone medical tape to the underside of the part (for realism) give her a good shake and I was good to go. I love the length of the front. My face measures 7.5” so you can judge where she’ll fall on you.
Lets talk about Gabor fibers. They are soft to the touch and average in denier. Not overly shiny especially on this color Rusty Auburn.
There are many subtle layers as illustrated in image 1.
The lace front and mono part are nicely done. A tad sparse but still quite nice and personally I prefer a tad sparse over dense. It just looks more realistic to me. The part looks great doesn’t it? Image 6 is after I applied soft silicone tape to the underside of the part.
The fit I would say is true to average. My head is on the small side and with the adjusters taken in at the nape she fit me very nicely. No baggy areas on the cap which is nice. Gabor caps are always so comfortable and this one is no exception. She has closed felt covered ear-tabs and while she does not have an extended nape it is a closed felt covered one with velcro adjusters. I could wear her one all day.
Image 8 illustrates the back of Opulence. Perfect for summer. She’s short but not too short. I love the balance of design.
Lets talk color. Very simple put Rusty Auburn is a blend of colors that mimics a natural medium auburn color. Very natural and looks like you were born with gorgeous auburn hair. In image 9 you can see all the colors that are used in this auburn blend.
In images 11-14 I have fluffed up Opulence and played with the part a bit. She doesn’t have a lot of permatease but she has just enough to get a little oomph. This lace front looks beautiful which is good news because having the bangs up and off the face is my favorite way to wear her.
Rusty Auburn is a thoroughly blended color and so natural…I am really glad I tried this color.
The take away here is if you love bobs but want to try something a little shorter with a lace front mono part and low/natural density you’ll love Opulence by Gabor. If you love reds but want something that looks natural that isn’t too light or too dark you’ll love Rusty Auburn. I highly recommend both and by all means..enjoy!
