Hi folks Kathleen here with my review of Pippa Part 1 which happens to be one of my favorite styles from Tony of Beverly. I have one in Sunset Red and after seeing Heather’s wedding photo (she is wearing the beautiful TOB princess hair…Sloane in Maui Gold 💕) I knew I had to try this color. Pippa is a classic bob with a lace front and full mono top.
Opening up a box with a new wig never gets old does it?…lol. I was thrilled when I saw the color. If a blonde is not going to have a root (I prefer a lighter root-btw Champagne With Apple Pie by BelleTress is a wonderful example of a lightly rooted blonde) then it has to be dynamic with lots of separation of colors..in other words coarsely blended with chunk highlights and lowlights. Maui Gold fits that criteria. Gorgeous color and very natural looking.
I noticed this Pippa was straighter with less hair than my first one but I loved the color so I continued.
For everyone that thinks I look good in everything. Not so much…😂Here is Pippa right out of the box. Wow I’ll be honest I was totally under whelmed to say the least. My first Pippa was perfection right out of the box. I wore my Sunset Red Pippa out to dinner the first day I received her. This Pippa has low hair density…major box hair….and flopped in my face. I did check the lace front and mono part to make sure they were well done and they were so knew I could make this Pippa work for me. I will explain and demonstrate what I did to this Pippa to make her look beautiful. These tips will be covered along with color comparisons in my Review of Pippa Part 2. This time I am giving you my overall impression of Pippa in Maui Gold.
Tony of Beverly has impeccable lace fronts…really all their monofilament features are beautifully done. The knots are very small and tightly knotted. There were some odd shorter curved hairs along this lace front. Not frizzy though so I knew they would calm down overtime.
Image 7 illustrates this lace front and mono top. It is gorgeous! I am amazed and without hesitation can clip the hair back to show off this lace front. The lace front is beautiful contoured too. That’s what gives it this very natural hairline. PS…This mage is also after some time training Pippa and getting her where I want her…😉
One thing I love about Pippa is all her layers. You can really get a tousled more casual look going with this Pippa.
This color is sooooooo natural. If you are like me and was blonde growing up that then turned into a dirty blonde and now you have light/medium blah brown hair you will love this color. I used to Quiet Touch (painted on highlights) my hair back in high school..like a gazillion years ago lol and this color looks like that. My husband loves the color and the style. He says its the most realistic wig I have for me. That’s fun. I love playing with all styles and colors but finding a color and style that looks like my hair could look (in my dreams that is 😉) is really nice.
Pippa coupled with this color Maui Gold is an easy to wear very natural look. No one would think you are wearing a wig. After some time working with this one I am in love.
One thing I still need to do is steam (take out the curve a tad) on the side showing in image 11 to match the other side. 😉
Image 12 is my super model look…lol 😂😂😂 Actually I was trying to get some photos outside and it was so windy! I was getting frustrated until it occurred to me what better way to show Pippa’s natural movement than to snap a quick photo. The denier of Tony of Beverly’s fibers are very fine. Doesn’t this wig look real?
Image 13 illustrates this color so well. See the darker neutral beige blonde along the bottom of this wig. Then on top of that are medium and light soft warm to neutral highlights.
The back is just slightly shorter than the front …just enough to give Pippa some swing.
Pippa hits that sweet spot..not as short as Opulence by Gabor and not as long as Jamison by Estetica.
The take away here is I love Pippa and I love Tony Of Beverly’s new color Maui Gold. Not all wigs even in the same style are the same and that’s ok. There are so many tips to help make your wig your own which in my opinion is half the fun of wig wearing. In Part 2 I will go over those tips with you and I will also compare Maui Gold to a few other colors. Fun fun!..So until next time…Enjoy!
