Rae….a short on trend deconstructed textured style…adorable

Hi folks Kathleen here with my review of Rae by René of Paris. It has everything I love..its short with a long fringe and subtle deconstructed waves/curls. Adorable comes to mind. As soon as I saw ROP’s new color Melted Sunset I knew I had to try it. Sooo up my alley…😉

I was so happy when I first opened the box and saw these soft barely there waves and color.

Melted Sunset…a perfect name for this color. It really does look like a sunset. The top of Rae you have a medium blush/ brown…then a coppery blonde and ending with a very light gold blonde. In longer styles I wasn’t a fan because too much of the gold blonde was used. The gold blonde color is my least favorite in this mix but in a short style it works fine. On my Rae almost half of the wig is the gorgeous warm blush medium brown and yes it has a hint of rose to it..its not a yellow based brown…its a very soft pleasing to the eye brown. Underneath this brown you have a little of the coppery blonde(I was hoping there would be more of this light coppery blonde) then the gold blonde covers the rest of the wig. Overall it looks salon fresh and very pretty. You can get away with the brighter more unrealistic coppers and golds because of the blush brown used. It makes this color in my opinion.

Here I am wearing her (in image 5). Those soft almost finger waves in the front are so feminine. A little old Hollywood I think with some bold lip color and false lashes. 😉This reminds me…you should take your time and play with your new wig..everyone is different and on me a more tailored toned down styling of Rae worked best. I recently met Heather(owner and founder of CysterWigs )…Yippee 💃🏼…and she was wearing Rae in Melted Mushroom( yes this color is gorgeous!..and has a hint of blush/rose to it) She had hers styled in a tousled contemporary way. It looked gorgeous on her. If someone looked at us side by side you might not even recognize that these were the same style wigs. My advice is think outside the box and get creative…styling your wig should be fun so toss those preconceived notions of how it should be styled out the window.

Below in images 7-10 I displayed Rae on a life size wig head (21 & half inch circumference ) to help you visualized how Rae would look on you from all sides. Notice Rae’s soft waves and salon color. I love the complete package.

Rae fit me beautifully and I have a petite/average head. I own a ROP Sonoma and she is quite roomy on me. Rae fit much better…I would say true to average. She comes with a lace front and mono part. Eh its so so…its not too dense so that’s good. But the knots are quite large and visible.

Having said that the monofilament features are still good enough to style somewhat off the face. I wouldn’t clip her back completely but brushed to the side is fine. I did add flesh colored soft silicone tape to the underside of the part for added realism (purchased from my local drugstore) I would touch up the front knots and part with makeup/powder/concealer for everyday use.. (I didn’t for these photos)😉

The take away here is if you want a short fun on trend style with natural hair density and monofilament features that comes in some beautiful fashion colors than I’d say give Rae a try. I haven’t taken her in the last couple of days and I love her the more I wear her…ENJOY!
