Hi folks Kathleen here with my review thoughts and observations of Simmer by Raquel Welch.
My first impressions were wow what a gorgeous color! Pale Golden Honey is a color I always wanted to try but was afraid it was too cool for me. The dramatic separation of color with dark honey blonde lowlights is in my opinion what makes this color and allows it work to for me. Then I thought…oooh yes what a pretty relaxed wave pattern on her. 😉
This is a shoulder grazing style…at least on me. To help visualize Simmer on you I am 5’5” tall and my face from the top of my forehead to the bottom my chin is 7.25”. The True2Life fibers felt soft and out of the box felt silky and didn’t tangle excessively.
Its always so exciting to get a wig in the mail. Am I right or am I right? 😉
The box and packaging by Raquel Welch is always wonderfully done and consistent.
This color is gorgeous….the darker color which is a dark honey blonde blends very well with my own bio hair and was my natural color back in high school. The lighter coarsely blended highlights are tastefully dramatic. Very chic.
Image 7 illustrates this gorgeous color. It skirts between a warm and cool blonde and between a light and dark blonde. Just beautiful and looks like you spent a small fortune at a Salon. 😉 The hair itself has non of that very shiny appearance that some regular synthetic fibers can have. She’s soft. Now since she has HD fibers I have learned through experience to handle the fibers as little as possible. That means combing Simmer both with a wide tooth comb or your fingers just when absolutely needed. If she starts looking a little stringy I gently comb just the very outer layer with a light touch and a flick of my wrist at the end. You do not want to dig that comb into your wig. Just repeated touching or playing with your wig can get those ends frayed. I know what I’m talking about because I tend to “play” or twirl my hair, it’s a bad habit, 😜 and I have to be very aware not to do that when I wear Simmer. She is so beautiful I just want to keep her beautiful for as long as possible. I also will shake my head up and down a couple of times to get her fluffed up. After each wear I recommend spraying some Jon Renau Detangler on the ends and gently combing the ends. Then spray some Simply Stylin’ on her and work in gently.
Lets take a gander at this lace front. It just doesn’t get any better than this. I love how Raquel Welch uses the lightest colors to frame the face. She also uses the lighter blonde on the lace front which is very flattering and also helps the lace front become virtually invisible on your skin. Simmer has an interesting wave pattern. In the front she’s more polished with a defined wave set in. This transitions to a more broken wave pattern throughout the rest of the wig. It looks like a body perm that I then let dry naturally and just curled the front.
I love the side sweeping wave on Simmer. Since she has a full mono top you can part her anywhere you want..great for folks who prefer a right side part.
This lace front is beautiful and where it stops on the soft cover ear tabs under knotting takes over. You could clip the hair back or tuck the hair behind your ears because of this feature. Its very well done.
Ahh so looking at image 12 I’m thinking of using a little It Stays on the ear tabs and styling Simmer back off my face. I’d pull a few strand out to soften the edge around the ear tabs but looking at this fabulous coverage I am inspired.
A half up half down do would by beautiful as well. Pretty holiday hair. The density of Simmer is average to low. She looks like a lot of hair because of her wave pattern but she is quite natural on. The denier of Raquel Welch wigs is average. Denier is how thick around each hair fiber is.

If you love straighter styles and wanted to try a beachy wave wig Simmer would be a wonderful choice. If you loved RW Pure Allure( now discontinued) you would enjoy Simmer. A wonderful elegant length and style with just enough wave to make this curl loving gal happy. Simmer hits that sweet spot between long and short and straight and curly. She’s well done with all the bells and whistles.
The take away here is Simmer between her length and relaxed wave pattern is unique and if you are looking for something polished yet casual that is very realistic with a lace font and full mono top and less shine because of her Hd fibers then Simmer is a beautiful choice..enjoy!
