Summer has finally arrived! Either you’re loving it…or you’re dreading it. But regardless if you’re a sun worshipper or an air conditioner aficionado, the CysterWigs staff has you covered. We’re sharing our top 15 wigs of summer, and while these picks are hot style wise, they’re definitely cool and comfortable to wear in the heat. So here are our first five wigs for your consideration.
“My list changes constantly, but what I can’t tolerate are long or dense heavy wigs. Mono features don’t seem to bother me, but hair on my neck does,” said Kathleen, one of our talented bloggers and the high priestess of our Instagram account. So when things get steamy, Kathleen tends to gravitate towards shorter lengths and airy curls. One of her faves is Voltage Elite by Raquel Welch.
This wig happens to be one of Raquel Welch’s best sellers! This stunner features an 100% hand-tied, temple-to-temple lace front, monofilament top and cap for the ultimate in light, cool comfort. It’s also available in 39 colors.
Kelly, our Client Care Help Desk Manager definitely knows how to rock a good style. If you don’t believe me, check out our Instagram account! Anyway, Kelly is a fan of Robin by Noriko in Champagne R.
“The hair is super fine and light-weight and the color looks as if you have been spending your days on the beach. This one is perfect for braiding and updos and is light enough to handle the summer heat!” Robin is made with lightweight, silky synthetic fibers. This style features a breathable cap construction for all day comfortable wear. It’s also ideal if you’re a fan of long, straight hair even in the summer.
If you’ve watched our videos, you know that Rachel has a way with wigs. She’s pretty much like a sassy, stylish chameleon–she can pull any look off! When the temperature rises, Rachel beats the heat with Girl Mono by Ellen Wille.
“So far my one fave for summer is Girl Mono by Ellen Wille. I love that it’s off the shoulders, and the curly volume keeps all hair off my face and skin. So no sticky synthetic hair on my skin when it’s hot outside. I should also add that the combination of open curls and open wefts really allow good airflow to my scalp!” Girl Mono features a 100% hand-tied monofilament part, a temple-to-temple lace front and wefting on the sides and back. And the density of its ready-to-wear synthetic hair mimics the look and feel of biological hair.
Nancy, our Forum Moderator and resident pixie queen, loves a good open cap wig in the summer. She finds that hand-tied caps tend to retain heat more. What does she do to stay cool? “My number one tip to keeping cool is buzzing your biohair. It eliminates the need for a wig cap and sometimes, even for a grip. I know it’s not for everyone but truly, every woman at some point has thought about it!” Nancy’s warm weather pick…well, one of them at least… Annette by Jon Renau.
“It’s a totally wind and weather proof style. The lace front and mono top add to a natural appearance if you get caught in the wind,” Nancy said. Annette by Jon Renau features SmartLace technology, which offers the most natural hairline available, and a monofilament top for an ultra natural look. Additional features include an open cap, velvet ear tabs, and adjustable tabs for optimum comfort and fit.
And finally, this last person needs no introduction. She’s our vlogger extraordinaire, the one and only Taz. Her favorite summer wig so far is Deena by Estetica in RH26/613RT8.
Taz said, “The style and color hit the spot for me so far this year. Work, backyard BBQs…you name it! Deena is perfect for the occasion. Deena has lace front and open cap. Light textured layering makes it cool and comfy. It’s beveled back is off the neck, but there is some fringe to frame the face. RH26/613RT8 is blonde heaven. It’s a rooted sun-bleached beachy blonde. A+++++ !!” She pretty much summed it all up.
So here are our first five staff picks for the summer. Stay tuned for part two, wig lovers!
